What is "manifest"?
In this case, like, "plain" or "apparent." It's probably used more times in this song (11) than just about anywhere else combined, except maybe "Manifest Destiny" in APUSH. Probably related to "manifesto." (I guess that's a document that makes your beliefs plain and easy to see. Or at least tries to.)
I also kind of like how they use it for the repeated last phrase (which rhymes with another repeating phrase for the first three verses but changes in the last one, so slightly increased Shannon density there)...but they also swap things around in verse 2 so it's used for another rhyme. They really want to make the "manifest"...manifest.
