#255: There's a Voice in the Wilderness

The text is kind of a mashup of different prophetic passages--there's the "voice in the wilderness" stuff from Isaiah that gets re-quoted in the Gospels, the "oh thou that tellest good tidings to Zion" (also Isaiah), and then allusions to Jesus as shepherd. The most incongruous one, in my opinion, is the "we die like flowers" stuff from Psalm 90, which I wouldn't classify as a particularly Advent-y text.
