The altos have one sort of interesting line and three copies of the same fairly-repetitive line. The text is by Rusty Edwards, which sounds like a stereotypical baseball player's name, not so much a hymnwriter though.

The image of "a piercing, two-edged sword" here is linked with Jesus casting out demons. But when he talks about "I come not to bring peace but a sword" it's more in the context of social division. The image of a sword is also mentioned in Simeon's prophecy: "a sword will pierce your [Mary's] own soul too." Not clear if that means "too" as in "as well as another sword" (in society?) or just "in addition to all this."

The repetition of "water" in verse 2 is a little jarring because it sort of feels like it's rhyming with itself, but that doesn't correspond to a rhyme in the other verses so just stressing the image.
