This text is by the same lyricist as "Thy Holy Wings," and maybe I'm confirmation-biasing, but it seems to have similar potential to get overused/too much cutesy-twee-ness. The Shannon density is a little interesting; both the first and second verse start with "Day by day," and you'd think the third one would as well, but nope. However, there are other lines in verses one and three that start with the titular phrase, and a line in verse two that ends with it.

The alto part is pretty boring, and the bass part not much better.
