#291: Let Our Gladness Have No End
Jan. 13th, 2021 10:51 pmThis is a Bohemian carol, but it is not a rhapsody. My gladness comes to an end on the fourth beat, when we're climbing up the scale and all of a sudden, boom, a tritone! Tritones are called the "diabolis in musica," that's how bad they sound. In the older edition of the hymnal I'm pretty sure they had it as a normal fourth in the scale, so I don't know why they changed it--maybe this is a more authentic arrangement? It still sounds terrible.
Bleep tritones.
