This was written in the 20th century by a gospel songwriter, although if you'd told me it was a hundred years older I probably would have believed you--it has the chorus/verse structure that feels more US-folksy than "European hymn" style. Some interesting Shannon density formatting, because the refrain is unsurprisingly the same for all the verses, but then the verses are different, except the last line of each of them is "Lead me, O Lord, lead me." But that's only printed once, instead of copied three times because they're different verses...

The last original line of the third verse is where you might find a hint to the relative modern-ness of it; "Lord, just always let me thy servant be." The word "just" in the prayer context, not "God, I just want to say..." feels very contemporary. Especially in a "youth group leader trying to be casual" way. Maybe I've "just" had too many weird ones.
